This century old four square home in the Sunnyside neighborhood came with an outdated, cramped kitchen that was closed off from the adjacent dining area by a large and no longer functional chimney. In this design, I removed the chimney and opened the wall separating the kitchen from the dining room and added an eat-in counter to bridge the two rooms. The appliance locations were reconfigured, a generous cooking island was added, as well as, new cabinetry, solid wood open wall shelves and Marmoleum flooring. Additionally, french doors that open to the rear yard were included, and a side porch off the kitchen was enclosed to create a tidy powder room.
